Required Model Conditions

Room Bounding Requirements

Room Bounding is required for all elements that are required to create rooms in Revit. These include:

       ·         Walls

       ·         Floors

       ·         Ceilings

Structural Elements or Floors

Rectilinear Rooms*

Tandm currently operates best with rectangular rooms.

See Figure 1 for visual representations of rectilinear rooms.

Obstructions

Any obstructions such as lights, ducts, cable trays, air conditioning registers, electrical fittings, fire protection equipment or otherwise noted must be associated with the appropriate Revit category.

Note: Generic models are not supported as an obstruction for this version of Tandm

Levels

Sprinkler Placement

When placing sprinklers using Tandm, the user must be on a floor plan or a reflected ceiling plan view. This allows Tandm to see the geometry within the model to analyse and place sprinklers in accordance with the geometric data.

Tandm requires levels to be created, or monitored from a master linked file.

Tandm requires the levels to be setup by the users as per the standard setup process for any linked service Revit model. This includes, but is not limited to:

       ·         Level Setup with correct visibility settings applied.

Sprinkler families must be loaded, Tandm will provide default/out-of-the-box sprinkler families if the user does not have any.
